What will be our future look like? | An Imagination

Future

“If you want to know the future look at the past” - Albert Einstein. The question is how far we need to go back in our past to predict our future.

Our world timeline transformed into the pre-covid and post-covid periods. We all know Covid and subsequent lockdown pushed the people into digitalization. This pandemic accelerated our scientific research, which otherwise will be slow due to many reasons like funding, approvals, etc.

Self-Driving cars and the future:

Driving a car can be dangerous, sometimes boring, and repetitive (for taxi/truck drivers). Tech Companies like Apple, Google, Tesla (it’s not a car company) have very complex AI to automate driving. These self-driving or automated vehicles (as Waymo says), creating a huge dataset understanding our environment, roads, human decisions while driving. These data sets are more important for the future, the only way to get these data is through cars. Mobile phones capture human mood, interest, and likes while these cars capture our surrounding environment.

Self Driving

From the past, we understand one thing. Progressively our human brain gets into boredom to do some task/job, hence we find the solution to automate.

Wheels automated the way we carry things, cars automated the way we travel with wheels, now self-driving automated the way we drive cars. Why not these cars automate the way we do our daily work like constructing houses, Farming, replacing the officers for basic verification and approvals.

So, these are not cars, they are robots - Elon musk

Robots and UBI (Universal Basic Income):

Elon Musk unveiled the tesla bot last week, during the AI day. He mentioned, these robots will replace our day-to-day boring jobs. So, in the future, the jobs that we do today will be automated and replaced by robots. If at all there is no physical and movable work to be done by humans other than thinking, what will be our income?

Tesla bot

Universal Basic Income, is not new, but that’s the future. We get money for doing nothing. We earn money only for the jobs that require the human brain, not our hands or legs. Transformation in industrialization and Farming will bring the cost of basic food and shelter to almost zero. People become super-wealthy and the happiness index will grow higher and higher. Luxury products and Premium services will become a huge market and demand for those drive its prices.

Mars colonization:

Mars

If mars colonization happens, then the people start migrating to mars. Frequent travel between mars and earth will become normal. People from earth buy lands, businesses, farming in mars from the earth and monitor their business through a digital portal. People buy a business on mars and run it through mobile phones rather than in person (Inspired from GTA5). The land surface area on Mars is the same as Earth. People with great wealth start buying a land surface and run their own country/government. They become rulers and build their country and houses on their own, like a game City Ville. They can design houses, roads, buildings, from their computer or mobile phones, robots build them. Sell their business, factories, products, raw materials online, and buy stuff online. People travel to different-to-different countries and stay in different countries. They don’t have to work to earn, they just need to enjoy their life and spend the money they get through UBI (Universal basic income).

History Repeats itself

Sounds familiar? That’s our history of Kings and Kingdoms, where King ruled the places, people worked to help kings flourish, the difference here is that the robots do that job, while the people just spend their time doing nothing. As Einstein said, “History repeats itself.”
